  5. In November 1885 white citizens led by then-mayor Jacob Weisbach expelled several hundred Chinese residents peaceably living in the city. As described by the account prepared by the Chinese Reconciliation Project, on the morning of November 3, 1885, "several hundred men, led by the mayor and other city officials, evicted the Chinese from their homes, corralled them at 7th Street and Pacific Avenue, marched them to the railway station at Lakeview and forced them aboard the morning train to Portland, Oregon. Kim Archer Music

Soul Revue The 70's Edition, is a reprise of the 70s soul stage production, and audio and visual trip back in time when Marvin Gaye knew what was going on and Chaka Khan hung out with Rufus. Archer, German and McBride Cohen Management will fill the Pantages Theater with Motown, Stax Records and Philly Soul on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 7:30. The night kicks off at 6:30 with a cocktail hour in the lobby, complete with DJ and 1970s photo booth; 1970s attire encouraged.

Soul Revue is about paying respect to musical energy exploding into something bigger than itself. In the Seventies, Al Green, The Temptations and Roberta Flack were hoping to rescue dying neighborhoods and veer political turmoil through incredible creativity. Aretha and Gladys took control of their careers and addressed both social issues and issues of the heart in new ways. Incredible, prolific music resulted from this true Golden Age of Soul Music.

Piling out of the shag carpet walled van will be a plethora of Tacoma singers, musicians, visual designers and theater professionals, including bandleader Kareem Kandi, Social Media Director Kris Crews, Graphic Designer Dmitry Mikheyev, and Stage Manager Ashley Jackson. On the stage, with flared pants and fur trim, singers Tiffany Wilson, Lady A, Jimmy Shields, Sotaria, and Kim Archer, will move and groove through the magnificence of 70s soul, with host NinjaKat to keep the Love Train right on track.
