A Taste of Tallinn, Estonia

History
The first traces of human settlement found in Tallinn's city center by archeologists are about 5000 years old. The comb ceramic pottery found on the site dates to about 3000 BC and corded ware pottery c. 2500 BC. In 1050 the first fortress was built on Tallinn Toompea. As an important port for trade between Russia and Scandinavia, it became a target for the expansion of the Teutonic Knights and the Kingdom of Denmark during the period of Northern Crusades in the beginning of the 13th century when Christianity was forcibly imposed on the local population. Danish rule of Tallinn and Northern Estonia started in 1219.

Economy
In addition to longtime functions as seaport and capital city, Tallinn has seen development of an information technology sector; in its 13 December 2005, edition, The New York Times characterized Estonia as "a sort of Silicon Valley on the Baltic Sea". One of Tallinn's sister cities is the Silicon Valley town of Los Gatos, California. Skype is one of the best-known of several Estonian start-ups originating from Tallinn. Many start-ups started from the Soviet-era Institute of Cybernetics. The economic sectors of Tallinn also include the light, textile, and food industry, as well as the service and government sector. There is a small fleet of ocean going-trawlers that operate out of Tallinn. Port of Tallinn is one of the biggest ports in the Baltic sea region.

Tourism
Since its return to independence, improving air and sea transport links with Western Europe and Estonia's accession to the European Union have made Tallinn easily accessible to tourists. Estonia has made rapid economic progress since independence and this is reflected in local prices. Although not extortionate, neither are prices as cheap as in other former Eastern Bloc countries. The main attractions are in the two old towns (Lower Town and Toompea) which are both easily explored on foot. Eastern districts around Pirita and Kadriorg are also worth visiting and the Estonian Open Air Museum (Eesti Vaba§humuuseum) in Rocca al Mare, west of the city, preserves aspects of Estonian rural culture and architecture.

  1. Leon Miller -  Category: Music -  An Aged Civil Rights Activist, Free South Africa and Anti-Apartheid Activist now over retirement age releases his first hip hop single and it is slowly making its way onto the pop charts.

There were two special mindsets that were prominent in the Black Church throughout early American history that were evident during the Martin Luther King civil rights movement: the Biblical story of freedom from oppression was especially relevant to the Afro-American experience and God?s special interest in putting an end to oppression could inspire prophetic-like courage to face the Southern segregation challenge (especially in Alabama and Georgia).

Therefore- inspired by a faith in peace, freedom and human rights-after direct training from Martin Luther King's Headquarters (with Ralph Abernathy) at the Southern Baptist Convention during the mid-sixties and working in life threatening desegregation efforts in Alabama and Georgia Jah Tah has produced a hip hop music single. This former activist (now hip hop artist) first came to Alabama to study at a local college. After training in the Martin Luther King approach to desegregation he began working throughout Alabama to promote voter?s registration and equal rights.

Later, after receiving direct training from top officials at Operation Push (Rev.Hycel Taylor) and after working for the Bay Area Free South Africa Movement and the University of Berkeley Anti-Apartheid Movement (up to the time when the State University system of California decided to divest in South Africa) and now-after working for many years on a pro-democracy and human rights project in the former Soviet Union-well over retirement age Jah Tah has finally released his first hip hop single which is making its way onto the pop charts. The single is called ?Come to Paradise.? Keep a look out for this romantic type truth statement about the power of true love.

    Sincerely,
