(BPRW) ROMEO & JULIET, the Ballet, Coming to Miramar Cultural Center this Holiday Season

(Black PR Wire) Miramar, FL,– Romeo & Juliet, the most passionate romantic tragedy ever told, will grace the stage at the Miramar Cultural Center on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 7:30pm.

Founded by legendary dancer and former principal dancer of TheBolshoi Theatre Ballet, Maya Plisetskaya, The State Ballet Theatre of Russia - now under the direction of award-winning dancer and Moiseyev Dance Company soloist Nikolay Anokhin - presents the most passionate romantic tragedy ever told. This full-scale production is choreographed by Bolshoi Theatre Ballet Choreographer Michael Lavrovsky, and based on William Shakespeare's timeless tale of tragic love. The State Ballet Theatre of Russia presents 55 of Russia's brightest ballet stars to bring this celebration of true love onto our stage and into our hearts.

Providing a stage for a classical ballet such as Romeo & Juliet demonstrates Miramar Cultural Center’s strong commitment to dance and culture. Stephen Kantrowitz, Interim-Director of Cultural Affairs for the City of Miramar shares, "We are very proud to host Romeo & Juliet this Holiday season, one of the highlight signature performances presented in South Florida this year.

About the Miramar Cultural Center/ArtsPark:

The Miramar Cultural Center/ArtsPark was created to celebrate creativity and diversity within the city. This landmark is a vibrant, urban destination located in the heart of the Miramar Town Center, situated adjacent to City Hall. Centrally located, the Center consists of an 800-seat theater, an art gallery, banquet facilities, a full-service kitchen, dance studio, a botanical garden, and more. Within walking distance of a main library, shops, restaurants, and fitness center, it is the perfect place to see a live performance, enjoy a day of family fun, have a meal, attend a lecture, or stroll through the galleries.

The Miramar Cultural Center/ArtsPark is a collaborative effort of many who share a fundamental commitment to the arts as essential to building a strong and vibrant community. The project is funded in part by Broward County through the Broward County Board of Commissioners with proceeds from 2000 Safe Parks & Land Preservation Bond. The Center also acknowledges the support of the State of Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs, the Florida Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
